"When male foreign ministers from big countries complained that they couldn't get through to me as quickly as their female colleagues from Barbados and Liechtenstein, I said the solution was to have themselves replaced by a woman. There were no further complaints."
In "A 21st-Century Memoir; Hell and Other Destinations" By Madeleine Albright.
And this, Ladies & Gentlemen, is the right way to turn a table without hurting your back.
Or as the Euro 2022 champion Georgia Stanway puts it: "At times we need to be nastier. That's something I say to the girls a lot. Sometimes we're a little bit too nice to each other, a bit too nice with the opposition."
(In a The Guardian interview, March 2023).
And I always thought there's nothing wrong about being nice to each other, especially if they are on your team, right? WRONG!!! You can't be nice with the ones throwing themselves on the pitch, playing the victim instead of football, or the sillys scoring goals for the other side - What are you doing?! You can't be nice to these people if you wanna turn tables.
Though I should also point out no nonsense Georgia got 8 yellow cards and just for this season... So we do need to become nastier, but not when the referee is looking at you 😉
